Men’s Mental Health Month

June is Men’s Mental Health Month and to observe it City Mission initiated an event to show care and appreciation for the men being served at Fundados, a local food pantry in Elmhurst. A fundraiser of over $1,500 was set to create care packages that would include supplies to help them in their day to day, such as hand sanitizer, tissues, and toothpaste/toothbrushes. Essential items that can improve their quality of life. Moreover, to hone in on mental health the care package included a journal they can use to write down their thoughts and reflections. The fundraiser exceeded expectations and over 50 packages were given away.
